Analyst II: 2-5 years Air Environmental Lab Experience OR 3-6 years General Laboratory

The Laboratory Analyst’s primary responsibility is to perform routine laboratory operations focusing on projects from arrival in the lab through reporting. This includes, but is not limited to, sample log-in, performing analysis, and scheduling instrument usage, troubleshooting issues, reviewing data, preparing reports, and performing follow-up investigations as needed. The Laboratory Analyst will report to the Environmental Laboratory Manager, but will also regularly engage with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Operations Managers company-wide for specific project support. Field work for LA positions is not planned, but it may be required on a specific project basis.

Project Functions

  • Initiate sample log-in
  • Prepare Samples for analysis
  • Set-up Instrument parameters, and perform analysis following written SOPS and/or EPA Methodology
  • Make records of all process steps with notes to be included in reporting
  • Prepare Reports for internal use

Administrative Functions

  • Accurate recording of time for project billing purposes
  • Respond to requests from Laboratory Manager to perform additional / follow-up analysis or reporting

Other Laboratory Functions

  • Clean and prepare glassware for field use
  • Scheduled and unscheduled instrument maintenance
