Stack Testing 101

Bio: Mr. LeMay is President and Chief Operations Officer of Alliance Source Testing, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and has over 18 years of source testing experience involving 40 CFR, Parts 60, 61, 63 and 75. Mr. LeMay’s testing and management experience spans multiple industrial sectors including oil & natural gas, primary and secondary metals, pulp & paper, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, refining, steel production, and power generation.
Bio: Mr. Laster is a Senior Project Manager for Alliance Source Testing, LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Widener University and has worked in the environmental and analyzer technology field since 2007. He conducts and coordinates source emission testing for industrial clients, and his responsibilities involve all aspects of testing including FTIR and GC test program oversight and QA review of FTIR and GC data generated on field tests. Additionally, Mr. Laster uses his knowledge of source testing in training team members with instrumentation, methods, and theory as well as confirming suitability of selected test methods and assisting with results interpretation.
Course description: The goal of this training session is to familiarize attendees with the steps necessary to conduct a successful stack test starting with the initial proposal request through submittal of the final test report. We will identify all of the items needed by the stack tester to design a test and discuss various test methods and the challenges encountered when conducting each of them. This will be an interactive session where attendees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with some test equipment and ask questions about their specific situations and learn from the experiences of the stack tester as well as those of their peers.
