Bill Hefley and Jordan Laster of Alliance Source Testing attended the 42nd Annual Stationary Source Sampling and Analysis for Air Pollutants Conference (SSSAAP, aka SES conference) in Tucson, AZ the week of March 25th, 2018. There they participated in a series of lively and candid discussions with over 200 other Stack Testers, Air Laboratories, representatives from EPA, state and local air regulatory representatives, and members from various industrial sectors. Discussions ranged from issues that our industry is facing to stories of failures and successes, and innovations in emerging technologies and techniques. Jordan, a “first timer” to the conference was invited to speak on a VOC panel, where he presented on the philosophy of collaboration as applied to individual test programs. He stated “[SES] is a great opportunity to share ideas within the industry with the goal of making us all better and helping to serve our communities.” Bill adds “The advances and quality of supporting data presented at this conference are truly groundbreaking, and remind us all that there is room for improvement, industry-wide.”
